Last year my father passed away prompting a move back to the USA from NZ.  This is as unexpected as you could imagine, both in terms of my fathers passing, as well as my decision to move back to Texas.  I wasn't looking for work, but thought I needed to get back home to help support my mother in her time of need.  I found that I needed to be home just as much as she needed support. I began work as a professor teaching game development after my 23 years of experience making games, however I miss making.  I think the biggest challenge I am facing currently is the lack of inspiration to make and to create. What a weird journey..   Started off wanting to do traditional works, (painting, sculpture) ended up doing level design.   Oh well.   The work is finished and now I just have to wait on the final marks for my exhibition and oral presentation.   We will see.. Let's hope I passed or I will have loads of stuff to do after my break!

I finally finished my MFA studies and hopefully I will pass.  My final exhibition went well, however there is a written component which I have to pass to finalise my degree.  I will hopefully be posting some interesting stuff soon, as the work I did on my masters was really a very simplistic version of what I used to do when I worked in the game industry.
